As part of the Educators for Sustainable Development programme (E4SD), Education International Asia-Pacific (EIAP) launched its Climate Justice Series in March 2023 with the goal of illuminating upon climate change issues and topics that are relevant to education unions in Asia and the Pacific.

Asia Pacific educators signaled their commitment to climate justice in two workshops and by passing a climate justice resolution at the 9th Education International Asia Pacific Regional Conference in Siem Reap, Cambodia on November 17-19, 2022.
The Asia Pacific region is more vulnerable to climate change than any other region in the world. From prolonged droughts, ocean acidification, severe hurricanes, heatwaves, and surging seas, Asia Pacific peoples are already witnessing the life-altering impacts of climate change. The achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the region has also been effectively derailed by climate impacts, compounding existing inequalities on gender, health and education, among others.
